Privacy

Rust Data Lab keeps no visitor records and sets no cookies of its own. Here is the full account of what is measured and what is not.

Server logs

There are no accounts and nothing to sign up for. Our web server writes standard access logs: the IP address a request came from, the page requested and the browser string sent with it. We keep these briefly to run the site and to measure which pages are used, then they are gone. If you switch the theme between light and dark, that preference sits in your browser's local storage and is never sent to us.

Cloudflare

Requests reach these pages through Cloudflare, which delivers the site and screens it for abuse. Cloudflare handles visitors' IP addresses in the process and may place its own security cookie when it checks a request for bots. That cookie is Cloudflare's, not one of ours.

Fonts and the force wipe countdown

Fonts load from this site, with one exception: the flags on the force wipe countdown page come from jsDelivr, a public host for code and font files. Fetching that file gives jsDelivr your IP address and browser details. No Google service is involved anywhere on the site.

Cookies and tracking

We set no cookies ourselves. No analytics script runs, no advertising tracker loads and no profile of you is assembled. There is nothing about visitors for us to sell or pass on, so we do not.

The server data

Everything we publish about Rust servers comes from what those servers make public in the server list or answer to direct queries: names, player counts, settings, descriptions and images. You can browse it in the server browser. None of it describes individual players; player counts are totals, never lists of who is online. The live player count page works the same way.

Questions

Does Rust Data Lab use cookies?

The site sets no cookies of its own. Cloudflare, which delivers and protects the site, may set a security cookie of its own when it checks a request for bots. That cookie belongs to Cloudflare, not to Rust Data Lab.

What does Rust Data Lab do with my IP address?

Your IP address appears in our web server's access logs, which we keep for a short time to run the site and see which pages are used. Cloudflare also processes visitors' IP addresses as it delivers and protects the site. We do not build a profile from either.

Are my details sold or shared?

No. There is no analytics script, no advertising tracker and no account system, so we hold nothing about visitors that could be sold or shared. The server data we publish is about servers, not people, and player counts are totals rather than lists of who is online.
