Sample tray · a Rust server list
Beginner-tagged Rust servers, measured
This page samples every public server whose name claims it suits new players: noob, beginner, newbie, new player, newcomer, learning or starter. A name is a label, not evidence, so Rust Data Lab lists what each server publishes and leaves the judgement to you. 490 servers match the filter and are live now.

What the data shows: the beginner label travels with low group limits more often than with anything else, so scan the Group column before the population. Population here moves in a predictable arc. Numbers rise through wipe day and peak within the first day or two, then the average across the sample falls away over the following week. A server that wiped an hour ago is lively and chaotic; one with a wipe due in a few hours will look quiet and stay that way. Region matters more than anything else for a new player, since ping decides fights, and the Region column tells you where each server sits. Gather rates are unstated on most of this sample, which normally means vanilla speeds; a small share advertise 2x.
Questions
How do I narrow this list to servers near me?
Type your region into the search box, for example EU, US or AU, and the table keeps only names containing that text. The Region column then confirms where each remaining server is hosted. That does not replace checking ping in the game client, but it removes the servers that will always feel slow.
Does a beginner server wipe more often?
Not reliably. Wipe cycles on these servers vary from weekly to monthly, and the schedule is published per server, so read the Next wipe column rather than assuming. A short cycle gives you fresh starts more often and a longer one lets a base survive. Either can suit a new player, as long as you know which you are joining.
Is a low population beginner server easier to learn on?
Fewer players means fewer fights and more room to farm, but it also means less chance of meeting someone who will explain things. This page sorts busiest first, so scroll past the top of the table if quiet is what you want. Check the refresh time on the counts, since a quiet server may simply be between wipes.
Can the table be filtered by group size?
The Group column shows each server's cap, but there is no filter for it here. Search the name for solo, duo, trio or quad to find servers whose titles state a limit. A cap of one or two keeps large clans off the map, which changes how the first few days feel.
Sort by players to see what is busy at this refresh, then use the search box to cut the list down: type a region such as EU or US, a group size such as solo or duo, or part of a server name. The search box is the only filter for words in the name, so it is the fastest way to find a server you have heard about. Two columns decide whether a beginner server is worth joining today: Last wipe and Next wipe. Freshly wiped servers offer everyone the same start; servers near a wipe will reset your progress soon after you build. If you would rather not fight at all while you learn, compare PvE servers; if you want the smallest groups, start with solo servers.
